I do not think that the program overestimated the relationship between teenage consumers and media because the teenagers tend to use a lot of social media. The social media is a powerful place because it allows the companies to reach many people really quickly. Also, as most of the time, the teenagers use social media, they are exposed to the new media options and thus, media is shaping their identities.
